Sanyukta Bhatia becomes first women mayor of Lucknow

Lucknow gets its first women mayor in 100 years- Sanyukta Bhatia. Lucknow’s mayoral seat was reserved for women and in this fight, Samajwadi party’s Meera Vardhan and Prema Awasthi of Congress were her rivals. Bhatia’s husband is 2-time MLA in Lucknow cantonment and she is with BJP since 1980. In UP civic polls, BJP win in 14 out of 16 mayoral seats.
