This is the 1st official meeting that Rahul Gandhi will attend after he announces a decision to quit as Congress President. Congress parliamentarians met to elect the leader of the CPP & Sonia Gandhi has been elected as the CPP Chief. The Congress won just 52 of 542 parliamentary seats this time, it 2nd worst performance since 2014 election. It is short of 3 members to qualify for the post of leader of opposition in LS.
