Trump has confirmed that he is considering an attempt to buy Greenland although his idea is not No1 on the burner. His interest was greeted internationally with widespread hilarity but with indignity in Greenland and Denmark. The Danish PM called it absurd and insisted it was not for sale. Trump looked to tie the idea of a US purchase of the world's largest island, claiming it to be essentially a large real estate deal.
