UK Parliament Declares Climate Emergency, a World First

In a world first, the UK parliament voted to declare environment & climate emergency after the opposition labour party called for real action. Party leader Jeremy Corbyn says he hopes the vote will trigger a wave of action from governments around the world & the move will increase pressure on the govt. The vote was taken following 11 days of protests organised by climate activists Extinction Rebellion.
