UN has strictly criticised Philippines govt for killing thousands of people in the war the country has waged on illegal drugs since 2016. However, President Rodrigo Duterte remained unapologetic over the same. Duterte drugs crackdown has been marked by high-level rhetoric that can be seen as "permission to kill", the report said, urging an independent investigation. More than 8,000 people have been killed so far.
