US sanctions Russia’s FSB, Iran’s IRGC for ‘hostage-taking’

The US Government on Thursday announced sanctions against Russia and Iran for engaging in hostage-taking and the wrongful detention of American citizens abroad. The first round of sanctions targets Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) and Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps intelligence organization (IRGC).
