US to impose visa restrictions on Chinese nationals engaged in silencing dissent

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has announced the imposition of visa restrictions on Chinese nationals who are involved in silencing or crushing dissent. Pompeo said the "United Front frequently intimidates members of academia, businesses, civil society groups, and Chinese diaspora communities" who lodge dissent "against horrific human rights abuses taking place in Xinjiang, Tibet, and elsewhere in China."
