Witness protection programme introduced in India

Government has prepared a draft of witness protection programme that has got Supreme Court's approval. Govt has asked Supreme Court to tell the state to follow the draft until they make a law for it and the SC did so. People who turn as witnesses in various criminal cases, various measures including identity change, monitoring the mails and mobile phone will be done to provide them security and safety.
