Women safety in question after BJP MLA suggests kidnapping girls

A video posted by NCP MLA Jitender Awad on Twitter showing Ghatkopar's BJP MLA Ram Kadam saying that he will kidnap girls who refuse proposals to bring them to the proposers, is being widely criticised. Kadam made these comments at a Dahi Handi event in Mumbai, also attended by CM Devendra Fadnavis. Kadam later tried to defend himself by saying that he was misquoted and called the situation a political conspiracy.
