2020 Tokyo Olympics: Podiums to be made from recycled plastics, Medals from recycled e-waste

In order to boost sustainability, podiums in Tokyo 2020 Olympics will be made from recycled plastic wastes donated by local residents or the plastic wastes that were collected from the ocean during marine cleanups. It's the 1st time podiums have been made from recycled materials & they will need about 45 tonnes of plastic to fashion around 100 podiums for the games. Organisers are making medals from recycled electronic wastes.
