Amit Panghal becomes the first boxer to win a silver medal in World Boxing Championships

Indian boxer Amit Panghal won the silver medal at the 2019 AIBA World Boxing Championships in Russia in the 52 kg category after losing against Olympic champion Shokhobidin Zoirov. He becomes the 1st Indian male boxer to win a silver medal. Amit said, "I dedicate this to my nation, it's the greatest medal of my life,". India had never won more than a bronze before in a single edition of the World Boxing Championships.
