Ashes: Steve Smith returns with unbeaten fifty

Steve Smith marked his first Test innings since the concussion injury in style hitting the fourth fifty of the series continuing his Ashes run-spree at Old Trafford against England. Smith, a bright light for the tourists on a dull day in Manchester, stayed back 60 not out in Australia’s total of 170-3 at tea on the rain-hit first day of the fourth Test. He came to the pitch when Australia was struggling at 28-2.
