Everton Ribeiro's goal helped Brazil defeat Peru 2-0 in a World Cup qualifier in Recife. Neymar capitalised on a rebound to score the second goal of the game. Peru's limited side had the mammoth task of beating Brazil, whom they had never beaten in 12 previous World Cup qualifying matches, but they failed once again. With 24 points, Brazil is now placed at the top of the South American qualifying group.
