Florida Governor Ron DeSantis slammed for signing bill banning trans athletes from women's sports

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis on Tuesday signed the 'Fairness in Women’s Sports Act' that bars transgender athletes from competing in girls’ and women’s sports. DeSantis, a Republican, has described it as an effort to protect female sports. As per a Washington Times report, at the event, DeSantis said, “I can tell you that in Florida, girls are going to play girls’ sports, and boys are going to play boys’ sports.”
