Former US college baseball player who inspired millions through the global phenomenon known as the "ice bucket challenge" passed away at the age of 34. The "ice bucket challenge" helped people tackle a deadly neurodegenerative disease. Pete was suffering from Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, which is more commonly called Lou Gehrig's. He saw his illness as an opportunity to give hope to other patients.
