Nadal survives Mayer scare to advance in Barcelona

World No.2 Rafael Nadal dropped a set at the Barcelona Open for the first time in 4 years before he advanced to the last 16, defeating Argentine Leonardo Mayer 6-7(7) 6-4 6-2. Nadal, who has kissed the Barcelona titled a record 11 times, had not surrendered a single set in the event since being beaten by Fabio Fognini in the last 16 back in 2015. He had won a staggering 30 sets in a row before meeting Mayer.
