Naomi Osaka beats Marie Bouzkova to reach US Open second round

Defending champion Naomi Osaka advanced to the second round of US Open after defeating Czech Marie Bouzkova 6-4 6-1 on Monday. Osaka started slow against Bouzkova who held her ground in the first set. But the Czech star failed to convert on four break point opportunities against the Japanese four-time Grand Slam winner. Osaka made a comeback in the first round itself and continued to dominate in the second set as well.
