South American footballers demand full pay despite outbreak

While footballers across Europe are accepting pay cuts amid the coronavirus pandemic, some of the less-well-paid South American players are ready to fight for every penny. In Brazil and Argentina, players haven’t budged during the league shutdown amid forced cuts to staffing and wages in other leagues across the continent. Players in Colombia had asked for full pay but clubs took action swiftly to start saving money.
