Suryakumar Yadav got a chance in the team only because Ishan Kishan suffered a groin injury. Surya made a sensational start to his international career. On the very first ball he faced at the highest stage of the game, he hit it for a six. In-form Jofra Archer bowled a short delivery at 143.9kph at Surya and the latter dispatched it into the stands with ease to open his account.
