The 2020 Open Championship cancelled due to coronavirus

The 2020 Open Championship has become the latest sporting event to be removed from the 2020 calendar and gets cancelled because of the cornavirus. The 149th edition of the major was due to start at Royal St George's on July 16. However, the course in Sandwich will have to wait until 2021 to host the event due to a virus that has killed nearly 5,000 people in the UK. St Andrews will be the venue for the 150th Open in 2022.
