San Diego startup gets $20m funding to create lab-grown fish

San Diego startup BlueNalu has grabbed $20million in Series A support to move on with its lab-grown seafood business as a sustainable alternative to commercial fishing. It will build a production facility and start a pilot program to make its product market-ready. Unlike other meat replacements like plant-based Impossible Burger, BlueNalu's seafood products come from muscle tissue cells taken from real fish.
