766 days of continuous nuclear operation, Kaiga sets record

NPCIL has stated that Kaiga Generating Station's Unit 1 in Karnataka has continuously operated for 766 days. The achievement has placed it second among Pressurized Heavy Water Reactors of the world and fourth among all nuclear power reactors. The 220 MW unit, NPCIL's first, has been in continuous operation since May 13, 2016. Previously, a record of 765 days was held by Unit 5 of their Rajasthan Atomic Power Station.
