A Japanese woman became the first to receive iPS Corneal Transplant

A team from Osaka University conducts the first-ever iPS Corneal Transplant using reprogrammed stem cells. A Japanese woman became the 1st to receive it. There is a shortage of corneas available for surgery in Japan, with 1600 patients awaiting transplants. The surgery was done on July 27 & patient was discharged on Aug 23, yet monitored closely & doctors say she can see well from the operated eye.
