Access to consumer credit information gets secured by RBI

The RBI has instructed commercial banks and non-bank creditors to stop offering deregulated companies with links to customer data maintained by credit agencies. In a notice to the banks, RBI said, It noted that they had assigned officers allowing them to reach the credit info company database. It warned them by adding that these actions were against CICRA,2005, and would impose penalties if the rules were violated.
