All cellphone manufacturers need to submit IMEI data in 60 days: Telecom dept

The department of telecom is preparing a centralized database of the IMEI numbers of all mobile devices in India, and they have directed all the handset manufacturers to submit details to the database within the next 60 days. DoT is also having discussions with international handset manufacturers to compile the IMEI codes for security purposes. It is a part of the recently launched central tracking portal by the govt.
