Amazon spent a whopping $23 billion on R&D last year

Amazon topped the list in the U.S for research and development spending with $22.6 billion, which is 41% more than what they have spent in the previous year. Amazon has poured a lot of resources in their ambitious Alexa, AWS and Amazon go cashierless futuristic stores. R&D spending accounts 3% of the country’s productivity and GDP. Alphabet, Intel, Microsoft and Apple have followed Amazon in the list.
