Astra, the Beyond Visual Range Air-to-Air Missile tested successfully by IAF

Praising IAF and DRDO's high level capability to develop indigenously designed advanced weapon systems, the Defence Ministry said that the Beyond Visual Range Air-to-Air Missile Astra was successfully fired from a Su-30 aircraft at Kalaikunda Air Force Station. The missile, which has been subjected to 20 development trials, 'successfully engaged a manoeuvring target with high precision meeting the mission objectives'.
