Canada likely to impose digital tax on Facebook, Google from 2022

The Canadian government is mulling to impose a tax on leading digital service providers such as Facebook, Google from 2022. As per the reports, the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development is working to prepare a digital tax plan for the firms. The new tax regime will come into force from January 1, 2020. However, outgoing US President Donald Trump has threatened Canada of retaliating through trade measures.
