According to the NOAA, carbon dioxide levels have exceeded 415.26 ppm for the first time in human history. The increasing proportion of CO2 in the atmosphere is important because of its heat absorbing properties. Increase in greenhouse gases has tipped the Earth's energy budget out of balance, trapping additional heat & raising Earth's average temperature. Increase in atmospheric CO2 causes the Earth's temperature to rise.
