DNA of World's Toughest Bean Decoded in a bid to make other crops drought-resistant

Black-eyed-beans are an important crop in arid tropical regions where there are droughts as they can grow even in sandy soil, adapts to growth cycles with less irrigation. These beans are rich in protein, low in fat, and very nutritious. Scientists wanted to make other crops like them; so found out which genes give them drought & heat tolerance. So as climate changes, those qualities could be gene-edited into other crops.
