DoT: Number of telephones decreased in private sector by 15.41 million in Jan-March

The telecom ministry said there is a decrease in the number f telephones in the private sector by 15,41 million during Jan-March. The number of telephones was 1197.89 million in Dec 2018 and 1183.41 million in March 2019; the teledensity also fell from 91.45 % to 90.10 % at the same time period. However, in the public sector, there was a slight increase of 0.93 million phones at the end of March 2019.
