An analysis by environmental NGO Greenpeace India reveals that several Indian cities are major hotspots for rising levels of nitrogen oxide, a harmful pollutant that contributes to ozone formation. The 6 cities include Delhi, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai and Hyderabad. These cities have a high vehicular population and diesel consumption that gives rise to the country's worst nitrogen oxide hotspots.
