DGCCRF, France's Competition, and Fraud body has reportedly fined Apple with $27.3 million for deliberately slowing down the performance of older iPhones, compelling users to move for an upgradation. However, Apple has agreed to pay the fine. In 2017, the company had agreed to the accusation mentioning that slowdowns were designed to reduce demand on the CPU for older devices where battery performance may be compromised.
