Future AI traffic lights will predict when you want to cross street

Researchers in Austria have created a traffic light which analyzes pedestrians' behavior, identifies people who want to cross the street, and immediately stops the traffic for them without any need of pressing a button and wait. The system, which is set to hit the streets of Vienna next year, works on cameras monitoring an area of eight by five meters. It recognizes people’s intention to cross streets within one second.
