Google removed malicious chrome extension Archive poster

2017 was the year of Cryptocurrencies and Google has recently found that the extension “Archive poster” was secretly running cryptocurrency miner coinhive and had removed it from chrome after that. More than 100,000 users had the extension installed and had hence mined coins unknowingly. Over last few months, Google has been responding to various malicious and fake extensions in the web store to make it safer.
