Growing green on Moon! Scientists grow plants in lunar soil for first time in breakthrough research

Scientists from the University of Florida have shown that plants can successfully sprout and grow in lunar soil. It is the first in human history and a milestone in lunar and space exploration. The study was published in the journal, 'Communications Biology'. The study also investigated how plants respond biologically to the moon's oil, also known as lunar regolith, which is radically different from soil found on Earth.
