Hackers remotely install Spyware on phones; Whatsapp fixes the vulnerability

Whatsapp, owned by Facebook, was attacked by hackers, who remotely installed surveillance software on phones & other devices using a major vulnerability in the messaging app. The spyware attack was developed by Israeli security firm NSO Group's Pegasus, which is usually licensed to govt looking to infect targets of an investigation. Whatsapp has fixed the vulnerability & encouraged users to upgrade the app.
