IAF successfully conducts flight test using blended bio-jet fuel

After extensive engine tests on the ground, the IAF flight tested a Russian-origin AN-32 transport plane for the first time with 10% bio-jet blended ATF (aviation turbine fuel) made from Jatropha oil, which was sourced from Chattisgarh biodiesel development authority and processed at CSIR-IIP in Dehradun. These biofuels will cut down costs and IAF plans to fly AN-32 with bio-fuel on Republic Day.
