Google has become the top spender in the US on lobbying efforts in 2018, by spending $21.7 million after the govt and regulators asked for great scrutiny from the tech firms in connection with users' privacy and unfair market practices. The giant has been the spender for 2 consecutive years. Whereas Amazon spent $14.4 million on lobbying, Facebook spent $12.6 mn, Microsoft spent $9.6 mn & Apple $6.68 mn in 2018.
