India is gearing up to set one of the world's largest facial recognition systems, just like China. Modi government opens a bid next month to build a centralize facial recognition data captured via surveillance cameras across India; which will link up with databases containing records for everything. The move is said to be designed to help 1 of the understaffed police forces in the world, that has 1 officer for 724 citizens.
