London Marathon Organizers replace 200,000 Plastic Water bottles with Biodegradable Water pods

The organisers of a London marathon replaced 200,000 water bottles with innovative water pods that are edible & biodegradable. The Ooho Seaweed water pouches are made by Skipping Rocks Lab, a London based startup that develops plastic alternatives. Thousands of runners on April 28 marathon were offered Ooho Pods. They can be bitten to release water & the outer cover can be eaten; if not they decompose within a week.
