Governments and companies around the world are all set to launch a series of new generation satellites to monitor greenhouse gas emissions with unparalleled detail. Currently, a number of scientific research teams are in varying stages of launching their own satellites, which are capable of tracking harmful gases like CO2 and methane. They will also identify exactly where and from whom the gas is originating.
