NTPC and IWAI make the longest inland waterway haul to deliver fly ash to Assam

Making it the longest haulage in inland water transport movement, 1233 tonnes of fly ash was transported by Inland Waterways Authority of India for 2085kms from NTPC Kahalgaon, Bihar to Pandu Port, Assam via Kolkata through National Waterways 1 and 2 via Indo Bangladesh Protocol (IBP) route, for use by cement manufacturing company Star Cement. The government hopes to transport other goods via this route too.
