Qualcomm fined €242 million over the use of predatory pricing of baseband chips

The chipmaker Qualcomm has been hit with a fine of Qualcomm fined €242 million over a long-running European antitrust investigation regarding the use of predatory pricing of baseband chips by the firm. The EU regulator finally came to a conclusion that Qualcomm used abusive pricing to force its rival Icera, UK-based company out of the market, by selling UMTS chipsets below cost to Chinese tech firms Huawei & ZTE.
