Qualcomm, Intel & Samsung invests money in the US-based chipmaker SiFIve that produces computer chips based on the RISC-V instruction set architecture, and this comes after cutting ties with Huawei because of US government ban on the Chinese tech giant. RISC-V is an open-source hardware instruction set generally used in IoT devices, micro-controllers, network tech & smart wearables. SiFive was founded in 2015, headquartered in SF.
