Reliance Jio is Whatsapp's new ally in its fight against fake news

Aiding Whatsapp in its battle against fake news, Reliance has enabled Whatsapp on its Rs 1,500 JioPhone and ensured that all users get awareness inputs to tell them to be careful about forwarded messages and share messages responsibly. The Reliance JioPhone, mostly sold in key smaller towns and villages, will help in curbing fake news menace. Whatsapp will also start an outreach programme for JioPhone users.
