Tumblr launches group messaging threads

Tumblr has some exciting news for its super fans. It has introduced a new group-messaging feature that allows users to chat together regarding their favourite topics. The feature is like a 'public space' rather than a more direct-messaging feel. It means anyone can access the threads and read through them but to send messages in the thread you have to be first approved. It will also be ephemeral lasting only 24 hours.
