Uber’s self-driving unit gets $1 billion investment

Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi has announced a $1 billion investment from Japanese conglomerate SoftBank’s Vision Fund, car maker Toyota, and automotive component supplier Denso. The funding is for its autonomous division, called Uber Advanced Technologies Group, or UberATG. Uber’s IPO is expected to raise around $10 billion for the ride-hailing company and would value the company at as much as $100 billion.
