Why Chandrayaan-2 mission isn't a failure despite landing setback?

India's first attempt to land on the Moon may have gone off but Chandrayaan-2 is far from being a flop. This is because the Chandrayaan orbiter still remains in operation and will continue to study the Moon's surface from afar. And only 5% of the mission i.e the lander Vikram and the rover Pragyaan is lost. The orbiter is successfully orbiting the moon and can take several images of the Moon over the next year.
