20,000 people fled Delhi during 1984 Anti-Sikh Riots

On Monday, the Delhi High Court has convicted Congress leader, Sajjan Kumar in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots case and has punished him with life imprisonment. The leader was found guilty for killing 5 people at the time when the then PM Indira Gandhi was assassinated. On October 31, 1984, when she was killed, Sikhs across Delhi were targeted and gurudwaras were destructed. 2,800 Sikhs were killed in Delhi and 20,000 fled.
